Game On: Wild Food Degustation Dinner

Experience a fireside mid-winter game degustation dinner in the private room at Martinborough Hotel. Dine on the best locally-sourced wild foods from land and sea, including venison, rabbit and pheasant (to name but a few!) - all transformed into a mouthwatering dinner by the team of chefs at the award-winning Union Square Bistro. This five-course dinner is matched with the best local wines, and co-hosted by John Porter of Porters Wines Martinborough - a renowned wine maker, experienced game shooter and natural story teller. Lots of yarns and wonderful, wild game to be shared and enjoyed!

Tree to Table, Vine to Glass

Go behind-the-scenes with some of the Wairarapa's top producers and discover the taste of the olives and wine this region is famous for.

Join Helen and John Meehan at the oldest commercial olive grove in the Wairarapa, discovering and tasting their artisan extra virgin estate blends and innovative infused olive oils.

Then onto Porters Estate where you'll explore the 120-year-old barn and stables that have been converted into the winery. Local producer John Porter tells the story behind his wines whilst you sample away.

The final stop will be at Union Square for a leisurely lunch where Olivo olive oil is used to enhance the flavour of other locally produced foods in a three-course meal, with each course matched to a Porters wine.

Transport is provided from the Martinborough Hotel to Olivo and Porters, then back to the hotel. Please arrange your transportation to return home following lunch.
