This Wellington suburb doesn’t often spring to mind as a foodies’ destination, but the locals are definitely spoiled for choice for places to eat in Petone.
It’s within easy reach of the CBD and well worth exploring for world-class eats that cover the globe. Known as Pito-One in te reo Māori, the name translates to the ‘end of the sand beach’ in reference to the sweeping sandy shoreline. We recommend heading out for a bite, then taking a leisurely stroll while enjoying views of Wellington’s harbour.
