Sponsorship and Marketing Coordinator – Be part of two iconic Wellington festivals

Location: Wellington, New Zealand
Employment Type: Part-time (20-25 hours per week, negotiable)
Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 FTE (pro-rata: $37,500 - $40,625 for 25 hours/week)

We’re looking for a dynamic and organised Sponsorship and Marketing Coordinator to help deliver exceptional partnerships and promotions for Wellington’s iconic food and drink festivals, Visa Wellington On a Plate and Beervana.

This new role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop their experience in account management, is looking for flexibility or is interested in a career in events and sponsorship.  You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in sponsorship coordination, marketing support, and event execution while working alongside an experienced and supportive team.

The Wellington Culinary Events Trust (WCET) is an independent not-for-profit organisation delivering Aotearoa’s largest culinary and beer festivals.

The role

As our Sponsorship and Marketing Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in delivering on our commitments to sponsors and industry partners. From ensuring sponsor benefits are executed to supporting marketing initiatives, this new position is ideal for someone with strong relationship management skills and a keen eye for detail.

You’ll:

  • Assist the General Manager with sponsorship management, including developing activation ideas,  delivery of our marketing commitments and managing sponsor benefits.

  • Support the Marketing and Communications Manager in delivering marketing materials for sponsors and industry participants.

  • Coordinate with sponsors on hosting, ticketing requests, and promotional activities.

  • Assist in creating and approving sponsorship-related content for social media, EDMs, and blogs.

  • Track sponsorship commitments, assist with invoicing, and contribute to post-event reporting.

  • Attend key sponsor meetings and support on-site activations at events.

About you

You’re known for your strong organisational skills, your ability to foster great relationships, and your knack for balancing multiple priorities with ease.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Organised: A pro at juggling deadlines and details.

  • People-focused: A natural at building and maintaining relationships.

  • Creative: Able to contribute ideas for sponsor activations and content.

  • Adaptable: Thrives in a small, agile team and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.

Your skills and experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in account management, customer service or stakeholder relations.

  • Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with people at all levels.

  • Experience in marketing, content creation, or brand management would be a bonus.

  • Knowledge of the culinary, brewing, or events industry would be an advantage.

  • Some design ability or familiarity with MailChimp, Adobe, or social media publishing would be beneficial.
