Kid friendly fun for Visa Wellington On a Plate

June 30, 2022

With the school holidays fast approaching, we thought it would be a good time to start planning some family fun for the festival this August. It’s not all adult-only at Visa Wellington On a Plate, we’ve picked out a few events that you can take the littles along to as well. Make it a family affair this August with these kid-friendly options. From sweet hands-on treats to Burger Wellington bites there’s plenty to explore.

Pop ups!

Pop ups are great for your spontaneous outings with the whānau! Best thing? Our pop ups are free entry, pay on consumption. Here are a selection that we think the kids (and the parents) will love.

Milk & Cookies at Le Samouraï

The milk and cookie combo is an easy sell for kids. Join Le Samouraï this August for their Milk & Cookies pop up to experience a cookie-themed menu for your breakfast, lunch or late afternoon tea. Check out the event page for more details!

The Sea Breeze Inn - Visa Wellington On a Plate launching event

The festival will kick off with our new launching event for 2022: The Seabreeze Inn is a homage to New Zealand’s own kaimoana and throwback vibes to the humble fish ‘n chip shop.  The pop-up runs from 4pm from Friday 29 July - Sunday 31 August, so make it a weekend treat and get in early.

Brought to you by Visa.

NYC Dogs in the Windy City at Pickle & Pie

With this Wellington-take on the NYC deli, Pickle & Pie gives a nod to their heritage with a bespoke hotdog stand for the people of Wellington to enjoy.

For this pop up, VIVISTOP is calling all chefs aged 9-15 years to embark on a journey to discover what makes a perfect burger! Is it sweet or savoury? Egg or no egg? VIVISTOP are looking for young chefs to help them design the best burger Wellington has ever tasted over a two-day workshop. Check out the event page for more details!
